A new public art feature has been commissioned by Westmeath local authorities for the entrance to Mullingar Town Park. The winning piece, entitled ‘Stream Spire’, will be produced by Mayo-based artist Cathal McCarthy. The series of stainless steel spheres will stand at 3.2 meters and are designed to float in the air like a weightless ribbon of water droplets, mirroring the nearby River Brosna.
